The correct term is flanging.
The tool that you need is something like this.

Hi, I have aquired a Cruisers Inc. runabout from one of my father's friends.
It is 16 feet long and has a 1963(I think) Evinrude Lark that might run again.
My question is what model is the boat and what year was it made in?
