Yup, this was the way most if not all boat manufacturer's measured and labeled boat lengths. It was good marketing! Made the boat longer! My 1955 Thompson Thomboy 14 footer is actually something like 13'-4" centerline length. Sometime in the mid or late 1950s the Outboard Boating Club of Americ...

I too am eager to go boating. But with it snowing all the time, I think it may be some time before I go boating. Last year I had the boat in the water in April. I wonder if it's be mid-May before I launch this year.

The little nails are called escutchion pins. Maybe predrill the hole so you don't split the wood.

Bummer. You should have braced the boat before taking it apart. Oh well, too late.

I would suggest attempting to get it back into its proper shape. Go slow and easy, a little bit at a time.

If you think there are problems with the engines, bring em to a mnechanic for a tune up.

The engine maker and outdrive maker may be able to provide estimated fuel consumption tables. I am sure they would need to have the make, model and serial number of the items to assist

The vinyl window retainer that I have used has worked just fine. I have obtained some from Dr. Lyman and some from the guy that advertises here (in the Chicago area - sorry - can't recall his name). I have not had any problems. I did not heat it or boil it or soak it. I have used it on 1959, 1961, a...

The metal name badges pop up on ebay once in a while. Make sure you get the correct one, as Cruisers, Inc. changed styles several times over the years.

The wood background is just a piece of mahogany plywood that is stained and varnished. Probably 3/8" thick.

Pretty much a standard factory item as far as I am concerned. One of the only hardware items installed in the factory on many of the models.

Look at the brochures and price lists and accessory lists for specifics.

TVT = Thompson V Type

No real means to determine if it's 1945 or 1955.

I don't see a need for adding short frames. It can't hurt. Just adds weight.
