I bought a 100.00 HVLP wagner sprayer and sprayed the inside of my hull with "no-sand" varnish and it worked great. It saved a lot of time and looks very good. I did do a little bit of sanding. With just a little bit of practice its not hard to get good results. Jim

I have found it easiest to use a chemical paint remover before sanding. I have used a variety of brands with good results. I found that the ones they have at Lowes work as well as what I have used from boating supply places like West Marine, and for less money. Jim

I used Okume marine plywood to replace the bottom of my sea lancer and was able to bend it without steaming it. I clamped it in place for a few days before I attached it. It seemed to work well for me.

I have had good success using a heat gun and scraper. I follow that up with a light sanding. You need to be carefull not to heat up the wood too much and burn it. I just keep moving the heat gun and scraper and have not had that problem. Jim

I am replacing some of the planks on my sea lancer with okume. Is there some way to match the varnished finish in side the hull to the old planks? Thanks, Jim
