Phil, good point. I figured 1 quart was a little lean for bottom paint. I meant to type gallon :)

I won't be ordering paint for a couple weeks but you do make a good point about the paint keeping well for long periods of time with the cans unopened and the skinning stuff in place.

Thanks!

Phil, actually that is very helpful. I was thinking I would need a gallon or more of varnish for example... So let me change the scope of the question; How much materials do I need to get started? Answer sounds like; Quart stain - Zspar mohogany Quart Varnish - Interlux goldspar OR Zspar flagship Qu...

Quantity of paint/stain/varnish CPES ?

Andreas said that 1 gal of cpes would be more than enough for my boat. I have a 17' sea lancer (I think) and wanted to know how much material I was going to need. Since these materials are not cheap, I figured it would make sense to find out what quantities of stuff you were using! How much stain fo...

I have also bent thinner wall steel tubing around an object to create a bend that I needed. If you know the bend radius you could also fab a wood block to bend the tubing around.

Good idea on the conduit bender Dan, I am sure that would work very well.

Oh yeah, I think I have a sea lancer or something of that nature. My boat is only 17' long so likely yours would be different.

Thanks Bill, my top is in really good shape but the canvas is getting weak and it can be easily torn. It is pretty ideal for a pattern.

Bill, I have a complete one for my boat and its in pretty bad shape. Mind sharing who you have make your covers? I wonder if mine is the same as the one that would fit the sea coaster?? If it is I could always have two made.

Peter, I have a merc 900 and want to do the same thing you are doing. Ill be watching this closely :) I don't think its adding stress to the transom but would think you need to treat the holes you drill with something to keep rot from starting. I would absolutely love and appreciate if you could tak...
