Where to find fasteners

I'm looking for 4" #12 wood screws to re-fasten the transom to the keelson on a 1967 Sea Coaster (all the old fasteners were broken at the shank). Jamestown Distributors doesn't sell any longer than 3", and has no suggestions about where to find longer screws. Anyone have any ideas? David.

I'm concerned that I'll never get the keel back in the boat if I take it out.

Keelson repair

On a 1960s Sea Coaster, I have the garboard planks off and am starting to repair the ribs, which have rotted at the keel ends. I have found some rot on part of the keelson. 1967 Sea Coaster?

Andreas: I have what I've been told is a 1967 Sea Coaster. It has a "Sea Coaster" label on the dash, and the following identification tag on the transom: Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. Peshtigo, Wis. Serial Number 21783. What can you tell me about her? Also, a separate question: I'm working ...

I have a 1967 Sea Coaster that I'm just starting to restore. It appears to have paper-covered plywood planking.

What exactly is MDO plywood, and why do I want to avoid breaking through the paper covering? Do I need to fill every patch where the paper has been breached?

David.
