Re: Thomspon Boat factory in 2011

Would be fun to restore some of the buildings for use. Lets say a storage facility for classic boats of the Thompson vintage.

Re: Vinyl Deck Covering

Andreas & Miles: Thanks so much for your responses. I didn't think my Sea Coaster came with the vinyl, but I wasn'yt sure. The original owner had tried to replace some of the split veneer of the decking by trying inlays. Well we all know the out come of that. That's why I thought it may have had...

Vinyl Deck Covering

We have owned our Thompson Sea Coaster since the mid 80's. It is a 1964 Sea Coaster, thanks to Andreas for correcting the year as we thought it was a 1965. I have seen many Sea Coasters with the same color interior as ours, seats and dash, and they all have the vinyl decking. Ours is a two tone Aqua...

It's good to see your 'flippn' party was a success. I own the exact same model you do right down to the color of the interior, other than it's a 64 according to Andreas and his research. I'd be very interested in hearing about your do's and don'ts. Good luck on the project.

Looking at the Model 1773 reminds of mine. I think mine must be the 1750 model, it has back to back seats except the front is a full bench. Even the color is the same. I can remeber the the models from the 50's. It reminds me fishing with my dad in northern Minnesota when I was a kid. Thanks for pos...

Clark: I was looking thru the posts when I came across yours. Looking at the pics was like looking at a picture of mine. Same color interior, but not the liners. I always though mine was a 65, or atleast that's what the title says, but Andreas checked the numbers and thought it may be a 64. Either w...

Chris, Have you been able to get a spark again since it sputtered the last time? When you stated no spark, was it from the coil to ground or from the spark plug to ground? If no spark out of the coil to ground make sure you have 12 volts to the coil primary. If no spark out of the spark plug lead to...

Do you have a 4bbl down draft carburator? Electric choke? I have a manual for a 1965 90hp johnson that might have some info. Sometimes they can shut down do to lack of cooling. Is there enough water coming out of the exhaust port?

I recently registered for the Dockside and own a 1965 Sea Coaster. We have owned it since the mid 80's and enjoyed for many years. She's a little tired and needs some face lifting, but nat bad for her age. Have already been through the restoration section and learned a great deal.

Thanks , Will
