Thanks, Phill...that's one thing I can't blame on the bourbon! My sister in law has just purchased a 16' Yellow Jacket. She thinks it would look really cool with twin 35's on it. Finding one nice vintage motor is one thing. But two....and one that spins in the opposite direction, yet....sounds like...

Success! When we flipped ours there was just my son and I and it was something of an adventure. One of those things you get half way through and wish you had more help but there's no going back. We made it without any damage to anything or ourselves but I guarantee that there will be some recruitmen...

Too bad they didn't put her in the water, well away from shore, and set her on fire late at night along the lines of a Viking funeral. A much more dignified end.

Barry, I'm originally from Niagara Falls, very close to you and have family in Welland too. One reason I fell in love (for now) with my Thompson was we used to fish Lake Simcoe, Muskoka, Sturgeon, etc.with my grandfather when I was a kid and the Thompson reminded me of the boats we used to fish fro...

I had some minor removal work to do on my Sea Coaster next to the keel and it was a frustrating exercise trying to remove corroded fasteners. Whoever invented slot head screws didn't like do-it-yourselfers very much. As Lancerboy said, patience and persistence does eventually pay off. I even managed...

There's a Phantom Boat Company that produces racing boats in Sarasota Florida and a Phantom Jet Boat company in Washington. I don't know if either of them are connected to the original.

This is my '63 Sea Coaster Deluxe last fall before restoration was started. It's now a work in progress, in pieces and upside down. All these pictures of those beautiful boats motivates me to keep going and get her on the water this summer. http://i1180.photobucket.com/albums/x404/bwkell/Thompson%20...

Twin Engines

I have a 63 Sea Coaster with the original 40 Johnson. I have a chance to buy an identical motor in excellent condition and I was pondering the idea of setting up a twin configuration. The transom is like new but I'm not sure if it's designed to handle the extra load and torque. Any insights would be...

Very nice. I have her twin sister with the original '63 Johnson 40, and the same top and side curtains you have. Unfortunately I had to remove the keelson completely and replace it with new but, fortunately, that was the only rot I found. Quite a job though, especially getting the old one out withou...
