Ron,
I looked through your photo albums and found the '66 fiberglass Thompson boat. I had seen those pictures on eBay before. Is that your boat, did you win the bididng on it?
I think I just answered my own question - I see my boat in one of your albums.

Thanks Dan, Is that an anti-fouling paint? I ask because I found this in the Dockside Views Archives (Vol. I): Just finished a 62 Sea Lancer with a friend (2-1/2 yrs). These are the instructions from a wooden boat restoration service, Jehorts Wood Boat Works, WI Strip wood with Bix spray. Apply 3 co...

Copper Paint for Hull
I'd like to know what products people have used to repaint the copper bottom of their hulls.
This is the first time for me, does this require any special preparation? I ask because the copper paint applied by the previous owner doesn't look like it has bonded correctly to the wood.

I think I answered my own question. The length in the listing is a bit long, but the beam matches the 1963 Sea Mate. Location of the spray rail on the Sea Mate matches this boat, too. I'll check the ratings nameplate to confirm this. I was fooled because the '62 Sea Mate was not shown in the catalog...

Not a Lap-Chine?
Andreas, I'll post some better images and my measurements next week. The boat was listed as a 1962 15 Ft. Thompson Runabout by the seller. I didn't see anything like that in the '62 catalog, but the boat (especially the location of the spray rail) looked pretty close to the image of the '61 Lap-Chin...

Hello Andreas, I have found the ID # 012426 it was upside down and on a inner verticle board, drivers side, closer to the middle. So this confirms the year 1960? what else do the other #'s tell you? Thanks Pete I think the secret for breaking the code for the hull numbers was available in an issue ...

Jim, That is a Sea Lancer - different boat. I have seen some boats that appear to be Coasters with the rails on the higher lap, but they may have been built with the wide board lap-chine construction. Do you see any screw holes on the 3rd or 4th boards on your boat that coincide with the spray rails...

leec, Take a close look on the backside of floorboards, decking, etc. The number that was scrawled in magic marker on just about every piece of my boat turned out to be the serial number on the nameplate (once I found it). If you are lucky, you may also find the tag from the initial boat order wired...
