Flooring material

Wanted to get some ideas on what material people have used to replace the flooring. What came out is like a pressed paper type of material. Some areas of the flooring were soft, so I would like to replace it. This is in a 1962 Sea Coaster.

Thanks

John:

I own three body shops, and am a x-painter. The masks are a very good thing to wear, but they do not protect against fumes. The best thing would be is to wear the mask, but more importantly vent the area as best as possible. Leave doors open to the garage, use fans, so on.

Suggestions?

I have a 62 coaster that has been on a full roller trailer since I would guess the early 70's. I purchased a used full bunk trailer to replace the roller trailer. The roller trailer was damaging the finish on the boat every time I loaded it. The boat did well on the roller trailer over the years, in...

Windshield rubber 62 Seacoaster

Has anyone found a source for the white rubber strip that went under the windshield frame, to the deck?

I have called several places with no luck at all.

Thanks

Sorry Andreas, my autobody talk is coming through here. What I am talking about is using a little boat-life caulk were the laps join together. The only one I see that has any kind of gap to it is the last one on each side where the hull bottom starts. All the other ones seam real tight together. Tha...

Ok, some new measurements. Gunwhale 18' plus a couple inches, hard to measure when your younger son is helping. Width at the widest area, I had down at 79", but again that could very a little. Transom width 63" Numbers burned in the hull, little change to the first set, younger eyes checki...

Jim: Yes I can do pictures, except the boat is up-side down right now in my garage. I would not be able to show much other than a bare hulled Thompson. That is one thing I can look at bare hulled with out getting in trouble! In regards to the hull measurement, do mean measure the under side from whe...

Thanks for the reply Andreas! The metal plate says, Thompson Bros. Boat MFG. Co. Peshtigo, WIS. Serial NO. 22601 I will re-measure tonight. What do you mean by gunwhale measurement? The front seat is like many others I have seen pictures of, it is all fabric covered even the back sides of the seat b...

Outer Keel?

Hi everyone! I have a 63 Seacoaster that is up-side down in my garage for total stripping and painting. I removed the outer keel on Saturday, I did not realize it was made with one by two's stacked on top of each other. I have two questions. 1. If I want to replace them, ( they are not that bad of s...
