Installing Silicon Bronze Screws

Hello All, I tried to find where this may have been answered before but could not. Can anyone tell me the proper way to install new silicon bronze screws? Should I coat the threads with boat life caulk or something or just screw them in. The area I am most concerned with is putting the spray rail ba...

Cushioned Seat Material

Looking to reupholster the seats on my Holiday 250 Cruiser this winter and I am hoping someone might have a suggested source for materials that are close to what they used on my 59'. The materials are black and white. The black is an upholstery type material with an oval pattern and the white is a v...

Andreas, where do you get your Z-Spar from? When searching Jamestown Distributors they show a brand called Pettit Z-Spar but apparently that is not the same stain as you have used. Any direction as where/what to get would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

richnle,

Thanks, that was the roue I was thinking but wanted to get some confirmation from someone other than the distributor or mfg. I like the real life plugs for a product. My boat is just under 16', how much material did you use and what size is your boat?

Okay, primer it is, thank you gentlemen for the advise and the confirmation on the paint. I was looking at Interlux Pre-Kote for the primer, do you think this would be best or do you have any suggestions of a better product?

Interlux Brightside Polyurethane Question

I am getting ready to order the materials to paint the bottom of my boat. I took it down to the bare wood, applied a coat of cpes, filled all bolt and screw holes that needed repair, and will be applying the second coat of cpes. The boat will only be in the water when in use. I am wondering if I nee...

It appeared as though there was very thick primer applied before the paint went on. It was very difficult to strip off and most if it ended up needing to be sanded off. Does anyone know if this was the case and if so any recommended product? Also does anyone have a recommendation on what to use to f...

Bottom Refinsihing Items

I want to start by apologizing as I am sure this has been answered before but I cannot find it and the search function is not working. I am wondering what recommendation anyone has for sealers, primers, paint, etc. when restoring the bottom of the boat. I do recall recommendations for purching items...

Not a Trailer but a Boat Lift Question

I am wondering if someone can give me some advice on my boat lift for my 1959 Holiday 250. I purchased a boat lift last month (thought it would give me some incentive to finish my boat this summer) and I am wondering if I need to add some structure to the center of the lift to support the keel. I pl...
