Just follow the directions on the container. I personally have not used it but do know it is one that is recommended for bleaching wood.

Calvin, You may have to sand and possibly use a stripper or some type of solvent to remove the stain as the oil will tend to keep the bleach from penitating the wood. Generally the interior of the Thompson boat where not stained. They where left batural and the varnsih would turn Golden with age. Go...

Most steering wheels are fitted to a tapered shaft which is splined adb the wheel is held in place by a washer and thin jamb nut. These are generally the same size shaft, taper and spline through out all of the manufacturer's. So you should be able to take one wheel and place it on another manfactur...

They have marine grdae available.

Have not worked withthe wood, but looking it up onthe web I see it is being used for door and window framing and has very good chacteristics for stability, etc.

John,

My only concern would be if the varnish would bite onto the alkyd paint surface for good adhesion.
I guess you would just have to try it on some samples and see how it performs.
You might try contacting the paint manufacturer and see what they say about it.

Good luck,

Treeline III, If this leaking was with out power being applies to the hull as a large out board will do I would say you need to find the leak and fix it. Once power is applied you could very well have a bigger problem show up. When under way with power the hull is going to be beating against the wat...

Jim, Try using a new single edge razor blade. Hold the blade almost vertical to the surface and perpendicular to the centerline of the hair. The postion of th eblade you are hold should be slightky forward of the cuting edge so the blade has a slight forward lean in the direction you are pulling the...

HOPOIL, Most of the tiller type outboards from the 50's and later where either ready to adapt to remote cable controls by just attaching the cables using the correct cable end. In some cases you had to purchase an adptor kit the would convert them. This would be for the smaller HP motors like my 6 H...

Try contacting Mecury direct online at www.mercurymarine.com. You can also look at the page below from their website that might help. It refers to a publication they have that might help "Everything you need to know about propellers". http://www.mercurymarine.com/serviceandwarranty/mercrui...
