Thanks for the reply.
I saw this same detail on a Tomahawk.
It makes sense that the trim would cover the canvas.
Thanks again

Transom replacement
I will be replacing the transom assembly. It appears it had been replaced previously with plywood. I spotted a 12' Thompson with a unique trimmed transom and was wondering if this was fairly standard. I like it and was considering something like this. Any thoughts? http://www.flickr.com/photos/66652...

re-tightening screws.
I have replaced about have of the frames on my cedar strip runabout.
It was a slow process removing the filler etc. but it is coming along good.
I was wondering if it is necessary to go through and tighten the screws I do not remove?
Thanks

Stringer removal
Well I took out the stringers of my cedar strip runabout to gt at the bad frames. Looks like they were attached with nails through the underside of the ends of the half frames and then held into place when the half frames were screwed to the hull. To get the stringers off, I cut the nails. Now I am ...

Replacing frames
I hope everyone had a great July 4th weekend. I have got the stem issues taken care of and I am now working my way back replacing some bad frames on my cedar strip sport runabout. Is it necessary to remove the whole frame if only one end is bad? I was considering a scarf joint to join new with exist...

mounting stem piece
I am going to be mounting the new inside and outside stem piece on my cedar strip runabout. When I took the originals off there was a gap between the two pieces where it looked like it was once filled with something resembling pine tar. But most of it was gone. Probably why they failed. When I re-be...
