Re: Redecking my Off Shore
thanks for the pictures showing the process for redecking. someday I hope to do the same. i'm just wondering if by "contouring" you meant using a router, sanding block, or some other method on the edges. thanks again...

Re: putting it back together
in a previous answer to one of my questions (may 25th 2012), you mentioned you had 15 1957 sea coasters in your database 2 of which were the model 477. for some reason I can't get there with my computer/limited skills, etc. and was just wondering if you could post an actual picture. if you can't, th...

Re: putting it back together
as always thanks andreas. by the way, I tried to get to the site you mentioned to see an actual '57 model 477, but it wouldn't let me. any chance of you or someone posting a picture of the boat. other than the diagram in a brochure, I've yet to see one. would really appreciate it. thanks.

putting it back together
at a point where i'd like to start putting my '57 sea coaster deluxe (model 477) back together. the damaged planks have been replaced and are back on. the frames are all new and installed - except for number 8 to the stem. i'm waiting for my new stem. the boat is braced every two to three feet and h...

frame number 8
on my '57 15' sea coaster, i'm in the process of bending the last frames. my question has to do with the number 8 frame from the stem. is it bent, or is it a half frame that fits into the forefoot? in an earlier post andreas thought that the first seven frames were half frames. not having the forefo...

colored filler?
i'm almost ready to start making repairs inside my '57 15' sea coaster. it has already been stripped, sanded, bleached, and had a next to final sanding. when i repair dents and where rot had deteriorated the wood behind the frames, i'm looking for something - wood filler, etc. that matches the douga...

TO ANDREAS
in a previous post, andreas, you mentioned you had two model 477s on your data base. how do i access that so that i could look at them? i have yet to see a 477 anywhere - ebay, thompsondockside, etc. thank you. also, do you know of any '57 boats painted "dusty rose" that could be found on ...

what is it?
off to the lumber yard tomorrow and one of the items i'd like to have made (well, the lumber to make it) is the piece of wood that runs along the bottom of the shearstrake from stem to stern. at least i think it does since mine are broken. BUT from the part of the shearstrake i do have it looks like...

a friend stopped by today as i was working on the eight pieces of wood which are on the interior of my '57 15' sea coaster. he asked me what they were called. I HAD NO IDEA! i know someone knows. when you have time, please help. thanks. oh, and by the way, i've been experimenting with various stains...

deck
happy birthday to US! my 1957 15' thompson sea coaster did not come with a deck and only remnants of king planks. can anyone tell me what the original thickness of the decks were on this model? also, it appears in some pictures that the covering boards are of a different material. were these origina...
