Here is information from the 1970 Cruisers, Inc. brochure about the Marlin. I do NOT have 1971 brochures.

Hummmm....that serial number might indicate 1971. I am not certain however. I suggest you contact Cruisers and give them the model number and name, serial number and tell 'em that it is fiberglass. Marlin?? Is that the model name??? Is it a wooden or fiberglass boat??

Look for the hull ID. If built after November 1972 it will be on the outside of the transom on the starboard side. If built prior to November 1972 look inside the transom.

Well, if the motor is not stuck and you can pull the starter chord, that is a very good sign.

Starboard is right. Port is left.

Transom is what the motor is mounted to.
