On the exterior of the hull planking? Or some other place? Is this supposed to be a painted boat? The Super Deluxe and Super Deluxe Runabout and Thomboy were the only TVT hulls that had varnished planking. All other models had painted hullsides and spray rails. And even on those varnished models, th...

Hi and welcome aboard! I have a 1937 Thompson Sea Gull cabin 18 ft. sailboat. It is a basket case. I can stick my finger thru the transom! But all parts and hardware are there. It is in storage and is down on the list of my boats to restore. There are very few known Thompson sailboats that exist. Th...

The impellor for the water pump in the lower should be replaced before attempting to run the motor. That's step number one. I am not a motor head, so cannot reply with any confidence. I suggest posting your questions at www.aomci.org in the "Ask A Member" discussion forum area. They have v...

Hummmm....that serial number might indicate 1971. I am not certain however. I suggest you contact Cruisers and give them the model number and name, serial number and tell 'em that it is fiberglass. Ask them if they can determine the year of the boat. Cruisers Yachts Customer Service 804 Pecor Street...

And what is the serial number??? This is needed to determine the year. I looked thru some Cruisers, Inc. brochures. The 22 ft. MARLIN model 22621 is listed in the 1969 brochure but it is not pictured. It was a new model that year, unveiled at the Marine Trades Exhibit in Chicago in September 1968. I...

Welcome!

Marlin?? Is that the model name??? Is it a wooden or fiberglass boat??

Look for the hull ID. If built after November 1972 it will be on the outside of the transom on the starboard side. If built prior to November 1972 look inside the transom.

For a Peshtigo built Thompson Boat the hull ID "BR 90844 K" would indicate the 844th boat (of all models) made in the year ending with 9, i.e. 1959. The "BR" is a code for the builder in the factory and the "K" is a code for the trimmer in the factory. These two guys we...

Well, if the motor is not stuck and you can pull the starter chord, that is a very good sign.

Starboard is right. Port is left.

Transom is what the motor is mounted to.

Bow is the front. Stern is the rear.
