Rod, Thanks. Our Ozarks hills are pretty steep and so consequently are the launch ramps. Our boat spends most of the time on a lift a few feet above Table Rock Lake, but when we take it to other areas for boating events, we encounter all kinds of ramps. I will look at your other posting. Installing ...

Andreas and others, Our Tee Nee trailer has been reworked with new bunks to better support our '63 Super Lancer, but still uses the "gator" guides/supports near the bow and the original keel guides. The keel guides are alligned properly and thus do not "hook" the keel, but it is ...

Andreas,

Thanks for sharing the video. I thought I heard them say it hit 32 mph. That's a fast lapstrake.

Tammy, Contact me via email if you like at thomp1@mchsi.com and I will put you in contact with a guy from St. Charles who has an early 60's Thompson Sea Mate and is active in both the Antique Outboard group and the Antique and Classic Boats organization. In fact, at Grafton, Il harbor he is heading-...

Tammy, Welcome to our world of Thompson Lapstrakes. Where in Missouri is the boat located? I live in the Springfield, Missouri area and we have an 1963 18 Thompson and 1953 16' Thompson we base on Table Rock Lake near Branson. If the boat is in as good a shape as he says and the motor runs well, it ...

Steve, Watch the width at the windshield on the out of the box type covers. I just got one on sale to put on our newly relaunched 1963 18' 4" Super Lancer. The cover says it is for 17-19 foot boats. It is barely long enough to cover the transom (separate motor cover required) and is just short ...

The Heartland Chapter of ACBS is hosting their Woodies cruisin' weekend this June 8,9 and 10 at Branson, Missouri. There should be at least two Thompson Brothers boats on the water that weekend.

John, I have a speedo which looks to be part of the original 1963 guages added at the dealership--or could have been with the new motor in 1969--on our Super Lancer. We also have a GPS in the boat. The original speedo reads about two MPH SLOWER than the GPS speed. In our 1953 Super Deluxe we install...

Our Thompson' user boats are named with the Thomboy theme; Big Thom (18' 1963 Super Lancer), Rescue Thom (16' 1953 Super Deluxe that was first used as a river search and rescue boat on an Ohio river), Tiny Thom (12' fooot rowboat).

Gang, Our 1953 "16 foot" Super Deluxe TVT was also fiberglassed when the second owner (from whom we purchased the boat) got it in 1967. If this was not an original job, it was done by someone who new what they were doing, as it has been holding for four decades. There is no mention of a fi...

Dorothy Kausler has these advertised in the Boathouse section of this website. They are of excellent quality. We have ordered burgees (bow flags), totes, towels and hats from her, all excellent and always quick and easy dealing. She is a first-class lady. She and her husband Dick have restored sever...

Andreas, I do note that the picture they used for several years in the catalog for the Super Deluxe does not have the logos on the side. Of course, ours is the "16 foot" model as opposed to the one pictured, so who knows, perhaps they put them on the 16's. Of course, it is possible one of ...

Andreas,

The 1953 TVT Super deluxe we purchased last year came with the smaller Thompson metal logos. It's possible a previous owner put them on, but given they changed nothing else from original above the waterline, I would bet against them having added them.

Andreas, My 1963 Super Lancer has the original logos and they are just the name and the bird-- just as pictured in the 1963 catalog. It was painted "gull gray" with a white shearstrake from the factory so had the logo without the blue background and they are mounted on the strake below the...
