Thompson Brothers is a boat built in Peshtigo, Wi. Thompson is from Cortland, N.Y. Most of the time a boat from Peshtigo is just referred to as a "Thompson" unless you are talking specificly about where it was built.

To me it looks like you may have a bent axle. The tire on the starboard side looks to be kicked out. You might want to get that checked so you don't have any surprises and save on your tire wear. As for larger tires, I went from 8" rims to 13" with no problems. All you need to do is check ...

I am sure Andreas will pipe in here if I am wrong, but if those are the numbers stamped in the transom it is a 1961 indicated by the first 1. It is also boat number 501 built by Thompson that year (all models included). There should be a letter before and after that would be for who built the boat. ...

My sons bought me one of the less expensive fish finders at Gander Mtn a few years ago. The transducer hangs on the transom and it works great as a depth finder.
