Darrell, I didn't do any sealing of my seams, with the exception of one on each side with a bit of a gap. For those I just used some of the caulk I was using for the keel and wiped it in with my finger. It probably was not needed, because my boat does not leak much through any lap seam. I recall tha...

Thompson Boats Forms at Wisconsin Maritime Museum
I received the following from the Curator of the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc in response to an inquiry regarding Thompson boats forms: We do indeed have in our collection three boat forms from the Thompson Brothers Boat Co. One of them has been exhibited in our galleries next to a Speed D...

Thompson Logo Badge
I have seen two different versions of the metal Thompson badges, one has just the bird with the name Thompson, and the other is the same with "Bros. of Peshtigo, Wisconsin" under the Thompson name. Which badge goes with which boats? Is it based on year or where the boat was built?

I just found that the link to the old Dockside Views is still active. Unfortunately, the search function doesn't work. I'll dig through the old postings to try to find the answer.

Emblem Parallelogram
I think these questions were asked in the archives, but don't recall the answers. On what year did Thompson - Peshtigo start putting the blue parallelogram beneath their metal emblems? It is not clear from the 1959 catalog photo of the Sea-Coaster whether the blue box is under the emblem. It is defi...

License Plate Signatures
This is provided in response to a question about where I got the license plate for my signature. It is easier than I thought and involves no talent at all. I just followed directions provided in a different discussion forum. To create a license plate, go to the ACME License Maker . You will need to ...

Hey Jim - thanks for the help. I think I've got it working. My boat is a '57 18' Offshore - that's the northern end of Lk Washington it is floating on. http://img478.imageshack.us/img478/447/offshore3xt.jpg I appreciate your help. Are you making those license plates up? How do you get that image ri...
