I kept waiting for State Patrol to stop me. Thank heaven it was cloudy half the way back. Other than that great trip! Pulle...

They should explain that better on the can I think. I cut my first coat by 20 % and it laid well second coat cut by 10% and subsequent coats by need due to temp and whatnot. I was refinishing a wood table top and started to varnish full strength What was I thinking!! I looked horrible. Thank god it ...

Yeah, I think I'll just leave them on. I would be taking a chance on loosing the parts too. Got on the Chain-O-Lakes yesterday. It was raining but still had good time cruising with the top up!!

Thanks guys. I usually have them on but thought I'd see what it looks like withthem off. I use them a bit when I put the boat in and out of water. You know, something to hold on too when I guide the motor into the transom saver. I wouldn't have to worry about water getting in those bolt holes would ...

Handling Bar

On my 40 HP Johnson I have a bar on the back that I was told was for handling the motor. Does it stay on, or do you take it off when motor is on boat? Or is it just preference..Dan

New Interlux Schooner Gold, any good?

Has anyone tried the new interlux Schooner Gold. Supposed to be better than the old Schooner, which is what I used. I think it was number 96. Anyway met a guy working on his Chris Craft and he said he didn't like it. Although he couldn't really tell me why he didin't like it. I ask because I thought...

Well when I go out there is usually 3 adult and 3 kids. I was thinking just a bench maybe for them to sit on. But then I thought it would be kinda neat to build something to sit on and slid gas underneath. The wood isn't that heavy an neither are the kids. I only have a 40hp Johnson and I mostly cru...

Back seat design for 61 Sea Coaster

I'm kicking around the idea of adding seats or a bench seat to the back of my boat. I'm looking for ideas or pictures so I can get an idea of what I might be looking at. Thanks...Dan

I agree don't breath that stuff in. I was "drunk" enough from that stuff I went to the Dr. after a couple of days of lightheadedness. As for finishing I would recomend "Brightwork the art of finishing wood" by Wittman. You can find it on e-bay. It will tell you all the plus and m...

No, I had a 40 HP Johnson Super Seahorse that originally came with the boat when I bought it. Its a 1967. I thought it would be neat to match up both the the biggger motor because it was the same year as the boat 1961. But now after reading previous posts I don't think I want to. ..Dan
