The twin 35's are too cool for school as are the helpers and the tow vehicle. Good work on getting those damaged ribs replaced.

ummmmmmmm errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr hmmmmmmmmm Is it me, or is the question for this answer missing ? I feel like I came in during the middle of Jeopardy. I say all this because if we're talking about Cruiser's Inc Logo boards (the ones that mount on the aft freeboard of the boat) I'd like to know as ...

I think dry rot is rot that has dried  Sorry, too easy to pass up. Moving along, I spent 44 years in Maine until transferring out here to San Diego in 98. Have since retired (forced) and go back to Maine every summer but I wanted to ask what you call it when wood dries out to where it turns to ...

A free outboard ? Can you turn it over ? If you can it's repairable. The biggest expense in any old engine is when they are siezed. If it will turn over often it doesn't take a lot to get them running. This is just my personal opinion but one reinforced by one of the best outboard mechanics around t...

I like this modification but I have a question for the experts on the site. As I understand it, orginally this boat had a forward deck that tied the two gunwalkes together at from the dash all the way forward to the forepeak. When that section of the boat was removed, what did it do to the athwartsh...

Since the topic of CPS has been raised prominently in this thread, I will use this as a chance to ask A) After I strip my hull (external) should I apply CPS before applying the bottom and freeboard paint ? B) After I strip the transom, should I apply CPS before applying marine varnish to the transom...

I have 100 or so pages written in very rough draft format. I haven't touched it in several years. Andreas Andreas I write a column for a weekly paper in Maine. When I took on the assignment, I had an agreement with the editor (I thought) as to how the column would develop. That agreement was based ...

Yes you are correct Andreas. The guide lists which division built each particular model and the aluminum hulls are all listed under the Roamer division. Speaking of guidebooks, you must be close to being able to write such a book on Thompson's operations with the wealth of knowledge you possess, Brian

I asked for and recieved a copy of Jerry Conrad's "Chris-Craft , The Essential Guide" for Christmas. This book lists every known hull ever built by Chris-Craft. Amazing to learn that they had built aluminum hull boats, the largest of which were three 74 footers built in 1977. Two of one mo...

Southern pine is a great species, but not for boat ribs. I use it all the time for structural glued laminated timber. Actually Southern Pine is close in strength to white oak. It does not have decay resistance whch is pretty important in boat construciton. Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. sometimes use...

degerb How did you make the cut in the sides that the rubber gasket that the glass seats in ? I had planned on taking a stab at this myself until I looked at the way the frame is cut/routed for that gasket. I guess I'm a wimp as I turned the project over to a cabinetmaker (way cheaper than a wooden ...
