Whats a '61 Evinrude Starflite III Worth?
Ok, It seems I did my research a little late. I got a 61 Evinrude Starflite III 75hp for my Sea Coaster. I then checked to see what you guys said about it and it seems it may be a little heavy and a little too thirsty. And it looks huge. I have a very nice Johnson super Seahorse that I like a lot an...

Well I checked her out and it looked pretty bad. Whole bottom rotted out, 90 % of the ribs had deteriorated. Front deck shot. Transom bad half way down. The only thing that looked worth pulling to sell was the Dash Board. Too bad. Too bad people let these boats get that bad. Looked like it was left ...

1964 Sportsman
I am going to look at a 1964 sportsman next Monday. I have never heard of this model. Owner said it didn't have wood seats only two pedastel seats. Would this model have come with seats or was that up to the owner. This guy said this model was only built in 1964. True or not. He has the boat taken a...

Yeah, I don't think I have a clutch. I got a shear pin thats supposed to do the same thing. I got a bag of them just in case on the boat. When I took the prop apart all that rubber hub was destroyed. When I asked my Johnson dealer about it he said a single piece of fishing line could do it and that ...

One day while out with My Seacoaster I was coming out of the hole and all of a sudden the engine reved up but no thrust. I was new to boating so didn't have an idea what it was. I was able to get back to the dock at low speed which I was greatful for. I was on the Illinois River. Anyway it was the H...

I've heard that these are good for a 8 hour period and then I'd need a replacement. Would you agree? Money is not a subject when it comes to my well being. I just want to have the right PPE (personal protective Equipment) and know whats it's limitations are. I wanna boat till I'm dead!! Hey is it il...

Respirators, Whats good, whats better?
OK, Last year I'm varnishing the boat in the garage and I get Varnish Drunk. I'm loopin for about a week. This year I have to get inside the bow to varnish the inside of the boat and I don't want to go through the loopiness a second time. I want to wear a respirator but am unsure what is good agains...

Is it me, or do this pictures make everything look soo much easier and cleaner than our projects. I think I'd love to build one of these boats from new material in a shop that does this stuff day in and day out. How long do you think it takes these guys from start to finish? Just some whimsical thou...

I have had pretty good luck with Interlux Stain (Brown Mahogany). I feel pretty certain my boat was the original color when I got it. The Brown Mahogany was a pretty close match, just a shade darker which was ok because your eye wasn't drawn to it. I used it to fill seams that had raised a little an...
