Thompson Rally ?

Post by Bill Dunn »

Hi Andreas,
I was just wondering if there are any plans for a Rally this summer. I missed the last one because of some home remodeling.

Yes it will take place. Dates have not yet been determined. I hope to get them nailed down this week. But June 2015 is when it will occur.

The Thompson Boat Rally has ended. It was a great success. 34 watercraft on display plus two form the Wishigan Rowing Club - for a total of 36. The best weather of any previous rally event. Seven boats for the in-water boat parade. A great Saturday evening picnic. Fun times. Lots of networking and exchange of ideas and restoration knowledge. FUN and REWARDING.

There are photos posted at two different Facebook pages: Thompson Antique & Classic Boat Rally and Thompson Owner's Group

Another great Rally due to all of the hard work by Andreas, Bill and Mary, and everybody else that helped. Great pictures Ron. I hope you can get the electrical problems figured out on your boat. It was nice to see how far some people were willing to travel for this. The weather was perfect to match all of the friendship and stories that were exchanged. It is always good to spend time with people with the same interests ( illness? ) as yourself. After hearing how many boats and sheds full of parts some of you have collected, my wife has nothing to worry about.
A special thanks to Nest Egg Marine for allowing us to have the Rally there again this year, and to Andreas for the tour of his business and the view into the past with the glimpse of what is left of the factory where a lot of our boats were built.
