1963 super lancer?

Post by afb »

I'm wondering what I have here. I saved her from a boat burning party a few years back. I'm ready to sell it since my projects are are starting to overtake me.
the metal hull tag reads" Thompson brothers, peshtigo, WI---23850
the stamped hull number is ----N31075
the measurements are approximate as i was working alone
length 18' 4"
beam 7' 6"
gunwhale `19' 6" approximate

This boat is already listed in my database as a 1963 Super Lancer. The hull ID "N31075" indicates she was the 1,075th boat of all models made in 1963. The letter "N" is a code for the guy in the factory responsible for getting this boat out the door. It was not his initial.

Dimensions per the 1963 brochure for the Super Lancer are: 18'-4" centerline length; 19'-11" gunwale length; 88" beam; 74" transom width. The Super Thomboy has the same dimensions. But your's looks like the Super Lancer.

Standard colour was white with copper bottom.

Thanks Andreas, It's in your database because I emailed you a few years back when i first got it. You had asked for pictures to further identify it and i never replied for lack of time. I think I'm going to post this as a winter project for someone, it's deteriorating to fast in my driveway and i hate to see her get trashed. Thanks again, Andy
