1958 Crusiers Inc #200

Post by m parramore »

Hello-

I beleive I have a Cruisers Inc #200 serial # 8K6702 built in 1958? I believe it to be 16.5' long although have not measured it myself. Does anyone know how many of these exist and were built? Also, does anyone know where to get some detailed original or correctly restored pics of a #200? and any further info on one?

Thanks,

The hull ID would indicate a 1958 boat. The measurments along with seating details will verify the model.

Cruisers, Inc. was making about 3,000 boats annually in the late 1950s. This was of all models. I do not think the company has any production records for that time period, so there will be no means to determine how many of each model were built.

There also is no way to find out how many still exist.

You can get pictures and other basic construction details from the brochures. Many times they would not picture both models of the same length, for example models 200 and 202 Seafarer. they'd only show one model. These brochures are available for purchase on CD-ROM from Dan Miller at www.dragonflycanoe.com

By the way, in 1958 the Seafarer models 200 and 202 were 15'-9 1/2" centerline length with 16'-8" gunwale length. Models 300 and 302 Commander were 16'-1" centerline length and 17'-2" gunwale length.

Make sure you mark your calendar for the 5th THOMPSON ANTIQUE & CLASSIC BOAT RALLY - 11-13 August at Nestegg Marine in Marinette, WI.
