spindle size

Post by Thomas Mackin »

Tomorrow I leaqve for Illinois to pick up my new boat. ASea Lancer with a TeeNee trailer(boat is 1958 and probably trailer too) I want to replace the hubs but do not know the spindle size. I would guess 1" straight spindle but it could be 1 1/16 or 1 1/8. The old tires are 6by 12 with four lug. What is the spindle size and should I change to five on new hubs and get new tires and rims at Farm and Fleet etc?

i can only venture a guess... I' d say 1 inch bearings. My 57' Sea Lancer sits on a vintage Pamco trailer that has the 4 bolt 12" wheels and it has the 1 inch bearings. I have had no trouble with these wheels, tires and bearings. My only suggestion is to find the heavier rated tires, I believe that they are C rated rather than the more common B rated. I got mine from Tractor Supply.
