Junction box location

I don't know what it is called but how close to the notch on top of the transom, that the motors sit in, can I mount the junction boxes. Seems that the only room is high up on the transom. Thanks for any help.

My boat has has a motor well and the boxes are mounted high up and to the sides.
I am also running twin engines in mine. One has a voltage regulator in it and the other doesn't.
If you are concerned about the way it looks you can mount them somewhere less visable but you will have to modify your wiring to reach it.
Generaly it seems that most of the ones that I has seen were placed close to the engine and easily acessable..

Also if you are concerned about water just make sure your box has a good gasket and all should be well.
