Paint! Finally

Post by gaff »

Very Pleased so far with the paint job.

Several more coats above spray rail and then a blood red spray rail.

I may take some heat for not sticking with original colors but after seeing a boat with with Kirby's Green Gray, I had to use it. I felt it would set off natural mahogany deck & transom.

Looks good to me.
It's your boat. You can paint it any color you want.

Looks great. Boats like this were intended to be painted annually. So colour was a choice of the owner. Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. offered numerous colour combinations in the 1950s. I would not fret about your colour choices.

Steve,

I agree with Andreas. The colors look good and the restoration is coming along nicely. Can not wait until you get it done and post photos.

Thanks for the replies.

Definitely taking longer than I thought it would.

It will be worth it in the end.

Getting the paint on it makes it look like something.

Can not wait to get going on the decks.

Thanks again.
