Thompson of Cortland final wooden boats

Post by LancerBoy »

The last wooden "Thompson" boats shipped from Cortland, NY plant of Thompson Boat Company of New York, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chris-Craft, were sent out on 19 July 1965. One was hull ID "TUBZ 20 3510" going to William J. Little in Washington, DC and the other was hull ID "TUCZ 18 2500" going to Maria Marineland at Monrovia, NY.

These came out of the Thompson plant at 127 Elm Street. The Corsair fiberglass plant was across town, actually outside of the city limits.

This information was gleaned from shipping ledger books of the Cortland plant that are archived at the Mariners' Museum in Newport News, VA.
