Scotch Brite Pads

Here's a newbie question...when the Scotch Brite pad used for removing the last of the varnish/stain becomes fouled with residue, is there a way to clean the pad? Is it a one time use item? Works great with the Star 10 stripper but gets filled up pretty fast.
