What year do I have

I am restoring a sea lancer but am unsure of the year. Serial numer is 16556. The first part of the hull id is covered by the splash well. the exposed numbers are 0398M. The dash has a vinyl dash pad and the windows have an aluminum frame around them.

What company built this boat and at what location? This is very IMPORTANT. This is stamped into the metal builder's tag along with the serial number. Please post the company name and location COMPLETYELY and EXACTLY.

My bad. The plate says Thompson Bros. boat mfg. co. Peshtigo, Wis Serial # 16556

Serial number 16556 for a Peshtigo boat falls in the 1959 to 1960 range.
The 1959 Sea Lancer has a deck hatch that is a flat piece of plywood, flush with the surrounding plywood deck. The 1960 Sea Lancer's deck hatch is raised up a bit above the plywood deck with a frame around it. This is about the only difference between the 1959 and 1960 Sea Lancer models from Peshtigo.
The entire hull ID, especially the first number will verify the year.
