Hull Number Question

I have been unable to locate the hull number for my '63 Sea Coaster. Everything has been removed from the transom but there is no number. There is no indication that the transom has ever been replaced but I suppose that it is possible. I have, however, found the number 31621 hand-written in black marker on the back of the dash and on two different windshield frame parts. Is it possible that this refers to the hull number when they were matching up components at the factory?

As a side note, I also found the autographs of Joe and Mack, also in black marker. I assume they were the builders.

For some reson, boats got out the factory door without a hull ID on occasion.

Most likely the "31621" is the hull ID. That indicates a 1963 model year boat, the 1,621st boat of all boats built that year.

I have a '63 Off-Shore Deluxe. I have not found the hull ID stamped into the transom. But I have found it written a few places on the back of components.

Is there a serial number on the metal builder's tag?

Joe and Mack probably worked on this boat. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a guy with the name of Mack. Joe Cohorst was a very long time Thompson of Peshtigo employee. It might be him!

Andreas:

The serial number on the builder's tag is 24164. Thanks for the info. I'll need that hull number when I go to register the boat in Ontario.

The serial number "24164" falls within the 1963 model year. Along with hull ID "31621" which also indicates 1963, you have a 1963 boat.
